| This acadian hermit crab is the biggest of its sort in the neighborhood. The little ones give it a wide berth. Notice that the shell it inhabits is covered with fuzz. That fuzz is called snail fur. Each hair is a tiny animal with stinging cells. This may offer the hermit crab some protection from predators. |
